Melanoma Day at Kyiv Medical University — 2025

On May 28, Kyiv Medical University hosted a public awareness and prevention event dedicated to Melanoma Day — an international initiative aimed at promoting early detection of skin cancer, increasing awareness of risk factors, prevention strategies, and the importance of regular mole checks.

The theoretical section featured expert lectures from:

– Yevhenii Shagov, founder of Global Age Management Alliance (USA) and AM Academy (Ukraine), with a presentation titled “It’s Not Just About Finding Melanoma: How to Break the Path from Stress to Cancer”;

– Tetiana Ostapets, dermatologist, trichologist, and dermato-oncologist at MyDerm Clinic, who addressed non-melanoma skin cancers such as basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma.

🔬 The practical part of the event included free dermatoscopic screenings at the “Check Your Mole” zone, consultations on choosing effective sun protection products by La Roche-Posay, clinical case discussions led by KMU graduate and dermatologist Susanna Andari, and an interactive Kahoot quiz with prizes for the winners.

 Melanoma is more than just a medical term — it’s a diagnosis that profoundly changes lives. Events like this are meant not only to inform but also to inspire responsibility for one’s own health, raise awareness, and empower people to take timely action.

We extend our sincere thanks to all speakers, participants, and partners for their contribution and support in spreading this vital message.
