Information about Shelters in the Academic Buildings of Kyiv Medical University

In accordance with numerous requirements and recommendations from state authorities and local self-government bodies regarding the safety of participants in the educational process, Kyiv Medical University has properly equipped protective shelters in the basements of its main academic buildings:

Flagship Building (2 Boryspilska Street)
Academic Building (121 Kharkivske Highway)
Dental Center “UNIVERSYTETSKYI” (7 A. Tsedika Street)

Declaration of Compliance of the Material and Technical Base with the Requirements of Fire Safety Legislation

During classes at clinical bases, students are allowed to use the protective shelters of the respective clinical bases, as well as public shelters located nearby.

Before the start of each academic year, the University’s shelters are inspected by a state commission, which includes, among others, representatives of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Direction signs to the protective shelters are placed in the corridors and stairwells.

The shelters are equipped with classrooms and sanitary facilities. While staying in the shelters, participants of the educational process are provided with drinking water, hot water, Internet access, and the ability to charge mobile phones. The shelters are also equipped with backup power supply.

The University has developed and approved an Algorithm of Actions for Participants of the Educational Process upon Receiving an “Air Raid Alert” Signal, available at the provided link.

All participants of the educational process undergo periodic instruction on the actions to be taken upon receiving an “Air Raid Alert” signal.
