Faculty of DentistryThis faculty was founded in 1993. The founder and organizer was Candidate of Science in Medicine, Associate Professor, Zakson Myron (Lvovych). He worked at the department of surgical dentistry and maxillofacial surgery. During next 20 years the faculty was headed by: Mirza O.I., Molozhanov I.O., Trubka I.O., Vitkovska S.V., Chernikov I.V., Pechkovska I.M., Azarov O.V. From 2017 till now the Head of the faculty is Candidate of Science in Medicine, Associate Professor Tymchenko Iryna. Education at the faculty is conducted according to the educational program “Dentistry”. Guarantor of the educational program is Doctor of Science in Medicine, Professor Kopchak Oksana. The department of surgical dentistry and maxillofacial surgery was founded in 1992. From 1992 till 1998 the Chair of the department was Candidate of Science in Medicine, Associate Professor Zakson Myron. From 1998 till now the Chair of the department is Doctor of Science in Medicine, Honored Figure of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Professor Tymofeev Oleksii. Department of orthopedic dentistry was founded in 1994. From 1994 till 2005 the Chair of the department was Professor Mirza O.I. During that time at the department were working a lot of famous people, such as associate professors Pinchuk V.I., Liutik H.I., Zvolinska M.A. From 2005 till 2007 the Chair of the department was Bida V.I. From 1998 till now the Chair of the department is Doctor of Science in Medicine, Professor, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Higher School of Ukraine and the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Doroshenko Svitlana (Ivanivna). Department of pediatric therapeutic dentistry was founded in 2009. The first Chair of the department was Candidate of Science in Medicine, Associate Professor Molozhanov Ihor (Oleksiiovych). From 2012 till now the Chair of the department is Doctor of Science in Medicine, Professor Yakubova Inessa (Ihorivna). Department of therapeutic dentistry was founded in 1995. From 1995 till 2008 Doctor of Science in Medicine, Professor, Marchenko Oleksii (Ivanovych) was heading the department. From 2008 till 2016 the Chair of the department was Doctor of Science in Medicine, Professor, Politun Antonina (Mykhailivna). From 2018 till now the Chair of the department is Doctor of Science in Medicine, Associate Professor Kopchak Oksana (Viktorivna). In 2015, the dental center “UNIVERSITETSKIY” was created with the Faculty of Dentistry of Kyiv Medical University. In 2015, the dental center was a part of the United Nations Development Programme, which focused on the creation of new work positions for people from temporarily occupied territories. During the work period, the Faculty of Dentistry prepared more than 2500 dentists. The faculty created the conditions for research. There are student scientific societies. Students take part in scientific national and international conferences, student competitions, workshops, congresses. Interesting and multifaceted student life is organically complemented by the art groups and sports sections. Nowadays there are 515 Ukrainian and 60 foreign students at the faculty.
In 2002, she graduated from the Bogomolets National Medical University with the specialization “Dentistry”. From 1998 till 2006 she was a dentist at the Kyiv Center for Modern Technologies in Dentistry. Since 2006 – scientific and educational work at the Kyiv Medical University. Since 2012, she is a Candidate of Science in Medicine. The dissertation on the topic: “Optimization of technological processes of creating medical films based on mathematical models” was defended in the specialized council of the P.L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. Experience in pedagogical work is 14 years. In 2015, she received the academic title “Associate Professor”. In January 2017 according to the concurs, she became a dean of the Faculty of Dentistry. She is a member of the board of public organization “Association of dentists of Ukraine” since 2019 and the public organization “Association periodontists of Ukraine” since 2020. Speech of Irina Tymchenko about studying at the faculty: “The best part of life is student years, the time when you have the best discoveries, uncontrollable desire to move forward, what forces to achieve great achievements, and awareness of that all ways are opened for decisive and purposeful conquerors of the impossible things (achievement). This period is the most important for collecting knowledge, acquirement of practical skills, increasing erudition, learning foreign languages. This is a great opportunity to take part in the national and international dentistry community.”
