Congratulations on the Independence Day of Nigeria

The Independence Day of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is celebrated annually on October 1.

On October 1, 1960 Nigeria was declared as an independent state. In 1999 a new constitution was adopted and the transition of power to a democratically elected president.

Nowadays, Nigeria is the country in West Africa with the largest population and the strongest economy on the continent. It is an agrarian country with a developed oil industry.

Currently, about 200 Nigerian students study at Kyiv Medical University and in Ukraine the Nigerian diaspora counts almost 30 000 people.
