Art in the heart of Silesia: a culture journey through timeOn November 18, 2025, students from the Polish campus of KMU embarked on a journey into the world of Silesian culture and history, visiting one of the most exquisite modern museums in Poland — the Silesian Museum in Katowice. This is a place where the past speaks through the light of installations, and the present unfolds in bold artistic expressions, creating a unique dialogue between generations and eras. The contemporary art gallery became a space for reflection and inspiration. Each work offered a daring artistic perspective on society, expressed through light, color, and silence. In the underground spaces that were once the heart of the mine, students seemed to cross the threshold of time. Stories of the people of Silesia — their traditions, challenges, and everyday lives — came to life, shaping the character and spirit of the region. Multimedia installations, carefully recreated interiors, and symbolic artistic images transported them across different layers of time, giving a sense of living history. The excursion to the Silesian Museum was more than a cultural event — it was a day of discovery, inspiration, and shared experience.
