Meeting of the Scientific Student Circle of the Humanities Department

We are pleased to inform you that the regular meeting of the Cultural Portal discussion club was held at the Humanities Department on February 28. The working language of the meeting was English, as usual. The topic of discussion was Nonverbal Communication and Body Language in Different Countries. Both Ukrainian and foreign students showed genuine interest in the topic. They prepared reports, presentations, and actively participated in lively debates. The event organizer and moderator: Senior Lecturer Iryna Shevchuk.

Presentations were given by:

• • Egor Evgrafov, (group C2302, under the supervision of Sardanova Y.), on non-verbal communication and sign language in different countries;
  • Samira Mahammad (group M 2211, under the supervision of Shevchuk I.) on sign language for people suffering from deafness, particularly in Japan;
  • Evgenia Borodina (group F 2301, under the supervision of Yurchenko O.) on the features of nonverbal communication in different countries;
  • Evgenia Sergeeva (group M 2304, under the supervision of Sardanova Y.) on sign language in Italy;
  • Katerina Leshchenko (group M 2206, under the supervision of Shevchuk I.) on sign language in China;
  • Hussein Raja Zahid (group MA 2301o, under the supervision of Pilipenko S.) on culture, traditions and sign language in Pakistan.

All presentations sparked enthusiasm and highly spirited discussion among students and teachers of the department.
The Humanities Department is excited to announce a new Cultural Portal meeting scheduled for the end of March 2024. The theme of this meeting is “Mental Health in Times of War and Terrorism.” Given the critical importance of this topic, we extend an invitation to everyone to participate in the discussion by sharing presentations or joining as listeners.
