Baieva Olena, Doctor of Biology, Professor 

Olena Baieva graduated from Chernivtsi State University (1977) and Cherkasy Institute of Management (2002). In 1991, she successfully completed her doctoral dissertation at the Institute of Experimental Medicine (Leningrad) on the topic “The functions of the immune system under stress in early postnatal ontogenesis.” In 1996 received the academic title of “full professor”. Author of more than 382 scientific work, including monographs, inventions, textbooks. Under her direct supervision, training in medical and pharmaceutical management was implemented in Ukraine. The head of department since 2017.

In 2007 the departments were merged.

From September 2019, by the relevant Order of the University, the department was renamed into the «Department of Public Health and Microbiology».

History of the Department of General Hygiene, Ecology, with a course of occupational diseases

The department was established in October 1992, the first head of the department was Professor Alexander Yavorovsky.

  • since December 1, 1993 the department was headed by Andriy Musiyovych Shevchenko;
  • since August 28, 1995 – Kozyarin Ivan Petrovich;
  • since August 29, 2000 – Maslenko Oleksandra Oleksiivna,
  • since 2000 – Yatsula Hryhoriy Stepanovych,
  • since February 16, 2002 – Tsyganenko Oleh Ivanovych.

History of the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology

The Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology was established in 1992. The department was headed by Yakymenko Anatoliy Ivanovych.

  • since 1994 the head of the department was Larionov Georgy Mikhailovich,
  • since1998 Blagodatny Volodymyr Mykolayovych,
  • since1999 Blokhina Olena Vasylivna,
  • since2007 the head of the department was Professor Kurilo Serhiy Mykolayovych.

In 2007, the Departments of «General Hygiene, Ecology with a course of occupational diseases» and «Мicrobiology, virology and immunology» were merged and renamed into the «Department of General Hygiene, Social Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology», headed by Kurylo Serhiy.

Since 24.01.2014 to September 2015, the head of the department was Doctor of Medical Science, Professor Meged Volodymyr.

Since 01.09.2015 to 29.08.2017 the head of the department was PhD “Medical Science”,  an associate professor Slobodkin Valery.

Since 30.08.2017 till nowdays, the head of the department is Doctor of Biological Science, Professor, Baieva Olena.
