Tim Goswin delivered a lecture and interactive workshop at KMU Polish Campus as part of the KMU Voices initiative

A lecture and interactive workshop delivered by international researcher Tim Goswin took place at the KMU Polish Campus as part of the KMU Voices international educational initiative and the KMU Summer Clerkship Practice program.

Tim Goswin is a global health researcher and a PhD Candidate at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Private University in the Principality of Liechtenstein (UFL). His research focuses on the One Health concept, humanitarian medicine, infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and the impact of armed conflicts on population health.

The event brought together students, providing them with an opportunity to explore current global health challenges, learn about interdisciplinary approaches to addressing them, and participate in the practical analysis of clinical case studies.

During the lecture, “One Health in Conflict Settings: Zoonotic Risks, Water Security and Antimicrobial Resistance Following Infrastructure Disruption” the speaker presented the key principles of the One Health concept, highlighted the interconnectedness of human, animal, and environmental health, and emphasized the impact of armed conflicts on healthcare systems and public health.

Particular attention was given to the spread of infectious diseases, risks to water security following the destruction of critical infrastructure, the growing threat of antimicrobial resistance, and the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration in responding effectively to contemporary humanitarian challenges.

Following the lecture, participants took part in an interactive workshop where they worked through real-life clinical case studies, analyzed practical scenarios, and discussed possible approaches to decision-making in the field of public health. This hands-on format enabled students to deepen their understanding of the theoretical concepts and apply their knowledge in practice.

The event once again demonstrated Kyiv Medical University’s commitment to strengthening international academic cooperation and providing students with access to up-to-date knowledge, global expertise, and international best practices in medical education.

We sincerely thank Tim Goswin for his insightful lecture, engaging workshop, openness to professional dialogue, and valuable contribution to the development of international academic cooperation at Kyiv Medical University. We look forward to future collaboration and new joint educational initiatives.
