Kyiv Medical University Participated in the RE-DIRECTION Workshop on the Sustainable Implementation of Project Results

On 12 October 2026, representatives of Kyiv Medical University took part in the online workshop «RE-DIRECTION in Ukraine – From Project Results to Sustainable Impact», dedicated to the outcomes of the Erasmus+ RE-DIRECTION project and the further implementation of its results in the Ukrainian higher education system.

The event brought together representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, Ukrainian and Georgian higher education institutions, international partners, and other project stakeholders. Kyiv Medical University was represented by Rector Borys Ivniev, Head of the Education Quality Monitoring Department Olena Solyeyko, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Denys Makhnytskyi, Dean of the International Faculty Kostiantyn Kachan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Psychology and Management Kateryna Anzina, Academic Director of the Polish Campus Iryna Motruk, Dean of the Polish Campus Antonina Hrytsenko, and Associate Professor of the Department of Neurology, Psychiatry and Physical Rehabilitation Tetiana Odintsova.

The workshop began with a discussion of the key lessons learned during the implementation of RE-DIRECTION. Particular attention was paid to policy recommendations, strategies for their practical implementation, and further steps needed to ensure the long-term impact of the project. An important part of the programme was the panel discussion «Transforming Higher Education in Ukraine: Digitalization, Distance Learning and Wartime Challenges». Participants discussed the digital transformation of higher education, the development of distance learning, and the organisation of the educational process under wartime conditions. For Ukrainian universities, these issues are of particular practical relevance. Recent experience has demonstrated the need for flexible digital learning formats, accessible online resources, and educational models capable of ensuring continuity of learning despite security risks, power outages, or unstable internet connectivity.

A separate session focused on the digitalisation of higher education in Georgia and the potential use of Ukrainian experience. This discussion highlighted the importance of international exchange of good practices and mutual learning among partner universities.

The workshop concluded with a Commitment Session, during which stakeholders selected one of the developed policy recommendations and identified how they could contribute to its practical implementation.

For Kyiv Medical University, participation in such events is an important part of its work within the RE-DIRECTION project. The University is involved not only in the development and piloting of new educational solutions, but also in their evaluation, dissemination, and further integration into the educational process.

The workshop marked an important step from project implementation towards ensuring the sustainable use of RE-DIRECTION results beyond the period of grant funding.
