Kyiv Medical University celebrates its 34th Anniversary: a journey of development, traditions, and achievementsA special and exceptionally warm celebration — the anniversary of Kyiv Medical University — took place at the Polish Campus, where the university community marked 34 years since the institution’s founding. The event brought together students, faculty members, and guests in a sincere, friendly, and joyful atmosphere. Kyiv Medical University (KMU) is recognized as one of the leading private higher education institutions in Ukraine. It was founded in 1992 by Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Valerii Volodymyrovych Pokanevych. For 34 years, the university has consistently fulfilled its mission — to educate, conduct research, provide medical care, and serve humanity, continuously striving for excellence. In response to modern challenges and the goal of integration into the European educational space, the KMU Polish Campus was established in 2022 as the university’s official representative office within the EU. It ensures the continuity of the educational process, safe conditions for students and faculty, and the further development of international medical education. Thus, the anniversary celebration became a continuation of the university’s long-standing development path, combining KMU’s historical legacy with its modern achievements and vibrant academic traditions. The celebration began with an official ceremony, during which the history of the university’s formation was revisited — from its founding by V. V. Pokanevych to the present day. Attendees had the opportunity to once again reflect on KMU’s journey, its values, traditions, and significant accomplishments. A special highlight of the event was a creative concert prepared by students. The youth presented a true celebration of talent and emotion: songs were performed, lively dances were staged, and a theatrical performance inspired by the Ukrainian folk tale “The Turnip” (“Ripka”) drew particular admiration. The sincerity of the performances, creativity, and atmosphere of unity created an unforgettable experience for all attendees. The second part of the celebration turned into a true festival of Ukrainian flavors. Guests enjoyed a variety of traditional Ukrainian dishes — delicious, homemade, and prepared with great love. The atmosphere was further enriched by fun competitions with prizes, a vibrant photo zone, and countless sincere smiles. The celebration was exceptionally heartfelt, warm, and family-like. This day once again reminded everyone that KMU is not just a university, but a large and close-knit family where traditions are valued, people support one another, and unforgettable memories are created together.
