KMU students gain hands-on experience in robotic surgery in Germany

As part of the German-Ukrainian Summer Surgical School GUSSS 2026, Ukrainian medical students took part in a hands-on training session at the Lübeck Innovation Center for Robotic Surgery (LIROS), hosted at the Fraunhofer Institute for Individualized and Translational Medical Engineering (Fraunhofer IMTE).

KMU students had a unique opportunity to explore the advanced Hugo™ Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) system by Medtronic and develop fundamental skills in operating it — from controlling the system to performing practical exercises.
