KMU students complete the German-Ukrainian Surgical Summer School 2026 in Germany!

For one month, students of Kyiv Medical University undertook clinical training at Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) in Lübeck, one of Europe’s leading university medical centres.

During the programme, students expanded their practical knowledge and skills and took part in the following educational activities:

• work in surgical departments;
• hands-on training in robotic surgery using the HUGO™ Robotic-Assisted Surgery System (RAS) at LIROS (Lübeck Institute for Robotic Surgery) / Fraunhofer IMTE (Institute for Individualized and Translational Medical Engineering);
• practical training in cardiovascular surgery in a VetLab setting;
• a seminar on pancreatic oncological surgery;
• modern approaches to the treatment of complex ventral hernias;
• training and practical work under the supervision of experienced German surgeons.

KMU students assisted during surgical procedures, participated in clinical conferences, analysed real-world clinical cases, and gained hands-on experience with modern surgical technologies.

German-Ukrainian Surgical Summer School 2026 — international experience, modern medicine, and practical opportunities for the future doctors of Kyiv Medical University.
