KMU Polish Campus students practiced basic life support skills during a workshop led by Iryna Avramenko

On August 21, 2026, as part of KMU Summer Medical Camp 2026, students of KMU Polish Campus participated in a practical workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) conducted by university faculty member Iryna Avramenko.

During the training, students practiced fundamental emergency care algorithms in accordance with current international approaches. The session focused on developing a clear sequence of actions in critical situations, rapid decision-making, and confident performance of basic resuscitation procedures.

An important component of the workshop was the use of virtual reality technologies, which make it possible to simulate various clinical scenarios and repeatedly practice essential algorithms in a safe learning environment without putting real patients at risk.

Virtual reality offers significant potential for modern medical education, allowing students to repeat complex clinical scenarios as many times as necessary to develop accuracy, consistency, and confidence in their actions. Participants can analyze mistakes, adjust their decisions, and progressively improve their practical skills.

This approach creates an important educational pathway — from understanding a theoretical algorithm to practicing it in a simulated environment and ultimately applying the acquired skills in real clinical practice.

For the students, the workshop provided an opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical action and to gain a deeper understanding of how to respond in situations where speed, coordination, and accuracy may be critical.

Practical training within KMU Summer Medical Camp 2026 contributes to the development of clinical thinking, professional confidence, and the readiness of future physicians to act in accordance with modern standards of medical care.
