Easter is approaching!

This year, on May 2nd, Ukraine celebrates the great Christian holiday of Easter. For all Christians, this day is one of the most significant religious holidays that symbolizes the victory of life over death, light over darkness. This is a very long-awaited, bright and joyful day, for which most of Ukrainians carefully prepare – observe Lent (eat only food of plant origin) and reconsider their views on life, trying to be kinder, more open, and more caring for others and loved ones. As for the traditions of celebration, Ukrainians prepare delicious Paskas, make pysankas and krashankas (Easter eggs), as well as prepare various holiday dishes.
Kyiv Medical University wants to introduce our international students to these wonderful traditions. Therefore, we have prepared the following plan for getting acquainted with Easter:

– April 30, 17:00-19:00
Master class on Easter egg decoration. We learn to use natural dyes, just like our ancestors, and study history and traditions.
– May 1
The Hunt for Easter sweets in the dormitory – find one of the hundred delicacies that we have hidden for you.
– May 1-2
Delicious treats for everyone – treat yourself to what you want in our candy bar.
The following things are especially noteworthy: after Easter and Victory Day (May 9), there will be many weekends: May 1-4 and May 8-10. With that said, please, follow the rules of the three Ks: avoid indoor, where people stay close and in contact, and be sure to use masks and antiseptics. This will help you and your loved ones to protect themselves from possible diseases.

All activities will take place on the basis of the dormitory of Kyiv Medical University on the 124 str Horlivska.
