Department of Obstetrics and GynecologyAnatoliy Senchuk, MD, professor. He has been the head of the department since 1998. In 1984 he graduated with honors from Kyiv Medical Institute O.O Bogomolets in the specialty “medical business”. In 1988 he defended his dissertation on “Clinical and laboratory characteristics of precancerous diseases of the cervix and their cryosurgical treatment” From 1989 to 1998 – Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology № 1 National Medical University. OO Bogomolets, from 1990 to 1991 – Deputy Dean of the First Medical Faculty, from 1991 to 1995 – Member of the Admissions Committee of Bogomolets National medical university. In 1996 he defended his doctoral dissertation on “Prognosis, diagnosis and treatment of iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women.” From 1997 to 1999 he held the position of chief obstetrician-gynecologist in Kyiv. Dean of the Medical Faculty of MI UAFM from 1999 to 2000. Vice-rector for scientific work of MI UAFM from 2001 to 2003. In 2001 he was awarded the academic title of Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The department teaches the discipline “Obstetrics and Gynecology” to students of the Faculty of Medicine (including English) and “Obstetrics” to students of the Faculty of Dentistry. Postgraduate training in the course “Obstetrics and Gynecology”, training in clinical residencyand graduate school. Internship in the specialty “Obstetrics and Gynecology” at the department is held since 1998, graduate school – since 2015, headed by MD, prof. Senchuk A.Ya.
The material and technical equipment of the department according the standards and requirements for the departments of higher educational medical institutions of III-IV levels of accreditation. Published a number of textbooks, guidelines, as well as materials on the following topics: early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of complications of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period on the background of anemia, late gestosis, pulmonary tuberculosis, extragenital pathology, modern methods of prevention of thromboembolic complications and, problems of precancerous conditions of female genitals, family planning and contraception. Methodical recommendations for teachers, students and independent work in Ukrainian and English have been developed.
The main direction of scientific activity of the department is clinical and experimental substantiation of efficiency of some biologically active substances in obstetrics and gynecology, solving problems of early diagnosis, prevention and treatment of complications of pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period. Over the past 10 years, the staff of the department has published 7 monographs. 93 articles and 18 abstracts were published in professional journals. Under the scientific guidance of the department 15 candidate dissertations were defended. The practical value of scientific research has significantly improved the treatment outcomes of patients with complications of pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period, as well as the increased level of assistance in the field of family planning and contraception. Employees of the department participate in conferences and congresses of various levels, in particular regularly in the congresses of the “ASSOCIATION OF OBSTETRICIANS-GYNECOLOGISTS OF UKRAINE”, thematic conferences, teleconferences, advanced training in thematic training courses.
The department conducts medical work in medical institutions of the city. The main base of the department is Kyiv City Medical Center “Academy of Human Health”, which annually provides medical and consultative, emergency and preventive care in obstetrics and gynecology.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology was founded in 1996, the founder of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 1996, was Maximov Gennady Petrovich, who headed the department until 1998. Since 1998, the head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology approved Professor Senchuk Anatoly Yakovych heads the department to this day. The department is known for the fact that under the scientific guidance of the department 15 candidate dissertations were defended, 93 articles and 18 theses were published in professional journals. Currently, the department has 2 professors, 4 docents, 8 assistants of the department and 2 laboratory assistants. The department pays attention to the high and quality level of education, interaction with students and future professionals, conducting research to improve treatment and prevention care for gynecological patients, pregnant women, mothers and parturients.
