Dental Students Master Practical Skills in Composite Restorations

On December 6, 2025, the second day of the scientific and practical conference took place at the Kyiv Medical University campus in Katowice.

For students of the Faculty of Dentistry, a hands-on workshop was organized on the topic “Basic Skills of Direct Composite Restoration of Posterior Teeth.”

During the workshop, students practiced all key stages of composite restoration of posterior teeth, including the adhesive protocol, composite placement techniques, anatomical modeling, and the fundamentals of the polishing protocol. This practical format enabled young professionals to apply their theoretical knowledge to real clinical scenarios, enhancing their skills in a safe and supervised learning environment.

The workshop was led by Anastasiia Ivashchenko – dentist (Kyiv, Ukraine), dental technician (Berlin, Germany), and lecturer at the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry, Periodontology, and Pediatric Therapeutic Dentistry at KMU.

She is the winner of the Ukrainian dental restoration competition by Dentsply Sirona, as well as a participant of the Global Clinical Case Contest in Konstanz (Germany) and the FDI World Dental Congress in Istanbul (Türkiye).

The event reaffirmed that KMU is a university of opportunities, where students receive not only theoretical training but also essential practical skills required for successful professional development.
