2026 admissions at KMU Polish Campus: growing interest, an international environment, and practice-oriented medical education

The 2026 admissions campaign is underway, and KMU Polish Campus is approaching the new academic year amid growing interest from prospective students.

This year, we are seeing strong interest in studying at KMU not only among Ukrainian citizens, but also among applicants from Poland and other European Union countries. Overall, the number of applications for admission, re-enrolment, and transfer to Kyiv Medical University has increased by approximately 10%.

Traditionally, Medicine and Dentistry remain the most popular programmes, with around 400 new students expected to begin their studies in these fields. Psychology, Nursing, and programmes offered by the Professional Medical College are also attracting considerable interest. In addition, approximately 200 medical interns began their training on 1 August.

Overall, around 1,000 people are admitted, re-enrol, or transfer to KMU each year.

We are particularly pleased to see the growing interest in KMU Polish Campus in Katowice. For us, this is above all a sign of the trust placed in us by students and their families, as well as a responsibility to continuously improve the quality of education and create new opportunities for every student.

Studying in Ukrainian and English

The educational process at KMU Polish Campus is designed to serve both Ukrainian and international student communities. Ukrainian citizens have the opportunity to study in Ukrainian, while international students can pursue their studies in English.

Teaching is delivered by experienced academics, clinicians, and invited experts. We place particular emphasis not only on a strong foundation in academic and theoretical knowledge, but also on practical competencies, clinical reasoning, and exposure to contemporary European approaches to medicine.

Our goal is to combine high-quality, affordable medical education with the opportunities offered by the international academic and clinical environment of the European Union.

2025/2026: A Year of International Knowledge Transfer

The 2025/2026 academic year, which is now coming to an end, has marked another period of active international development for KMU Polish Campus.

Almost every month, students had the opportunity to attend guest lectures, workshops, and master classes delivered by international experts. These educational events brought together representatives of the international academic and professional community, including specialists from Harvard, Germany, Liechtenstein, and other countries.

This is an important element of our knowledge transfer concept: students communicate directly with international experts, gain insight into different clinical schools and approaches, and acquire knowledge and experience that significantly extend beyond the standard university curriculum.

Practical Workshops in Medicine and Dentistry

Another important area of development has been the organisation of monthly practical training sessions and master classes for medical and dental students.

Future dentists participated in hands-on workshops covering modern dentistry, prosthodontics, dental prosthetics, and other clinical areas, with the involvement of experienced practitioners and leading professionals in the field.

Medical students took part in practical training focused on developing clinical skills, emergency care, and the application of modern medical technologies.

We believe that these additional opportunities are among the key strengths of KMU Polish Campus. The intensity of international lectures, practical training sessions, master classes, clinical activities, and direct interaction with experts provides students with opportunities that are not always available within a standard university curriculum.

This is why an individual approach to every student is so important to us. Our aim is not only to help students earn a degree, but also to enable them to make the most of their years at university for both professional and personal development.

Nearly 200 Students Complete Clinical Training in Silesia

One of the key achievements of the year was the completion of the summer practical training programme.

In 2026, KMU Polish Campus organised practical clinical training for nearly 200 students in hospitals, clinics, and dental facilities across Silesia with which the University is developing long-term partnerships.

For students, this provides an opportunity not only to complete a mandatory component of their curriculum, but also to gain real international clinical experience, see how the Polish healthcare system operates from within, and work alongside medical professionals.

Erasmus+ and Academic Mobility

Another important step this year has been the continued development of Erasmus+ and international academic mobility.

KMU students are gaining opportunities to study, undertake professional training, and acquire international experience at partner institutions abroad.

We continue to expand our network of international partners so that Erasmus+, short-term mobility, traineeships, and knowledge transfer increasingly become a natural part of student life.

Conferences and the Professional Community

Throughout the academic year, KMU Polish Campus served as a venue for numerous conferences, professional meetings, lectures, and educational events, some of which brought together hundreds of participants.

This gives students the opportunity to become part of the broader professional community while they are still at university — meeting physicians, researchers, academics, representatives of healthcare institutions, and international experts.

University Life Is About More Than Studying

For us, it is important that the university experience consists of more than lectures, examinations, and clinical training.

We value the opportunity to spend time together and build a genuine university community. Throughout the year, students, faculty members, and staff of KMU Polish Campus come together for cultural, social, and student events.

Together, we celebrate Halloween, Christmas, University Day, and other occasions, and organise events and activities where students from Ukraine and other countries can get to know one another, communicate, and feel part of one university community.

It is this combination of academic education, practical training, international experience, and a vibrant student environment that allows us to maintain an individual approach and personal attention to every student.

The 2026 Admissions Campaign Continues

The new academic year is just around the corner, and admissions to Kyiv Medical University and KMU Polish Campus are still open.

We are grateful to our students and their families for their trust and particularly value the positive feedback we receive. For us, the growing number of applicants is not only an indicator of development, but also a responsibility to continue improving everything we do.

We are pleased that over the years KMU Polish Campus has become part of the European educational, academic, and medical community, building an extensive network of partnerships with universities, hospitals, clinics, professional organisations, and international experts.

In the 2026/2027 academic year, we will continue to develop high-quality and affordable education, clinical training, international guest lectures, master classes, conferences, Erasmus+, academic mobility, and student initiatives.
